Ancourage Academy is registered with the Ministry of Education as a private education provider, listed in the public MOE private schools directory — registration is a regulatory checkpoint, not an MOE endorsement of our curriculum or teaching methods. Tutors are qualified and experienced, with deep familiarity with the syllabuses and exam formats taught at Woodlands-area schools. Under Full Subject-Based Banding, each Secondary 1 student takes individual subjects at G1, G2, or G3 according to their PSLE results and ongoing performance, and may move between bands subject-by-subject as they progress. Our tutors structure support around each student's specific G-level mix, calibrating pace and depth to the actual paper their school sets rather than a generic standard. Calibration begins at the trial class — a real diagnostic in a real small-group setting.

Our methodology — ESB — combines three evidence-based learning principles: Ebbinghaus spaced recall, which revisits concepts at the right intervals so they stick rather than fading after the lesson; Socratic questioning, which draws answers out of the student instead of dictating them, building reasoning habits along with subject knowledge; and Bruner scaffolding, which breaks new material into achievable steps that build on prior knowledge so each lesson connects to what the student already understands. ESB shapes how every Ancourage tutor structures a small-group session — recap, guided question, worked example, independent attempt, and error analysis. The Academy trial class (usually $18) is genuinely diagnostic, not a sales funnel: tutors assess the student's level in a real small-group setting before any commitment, and parents receive an honest read on where their child stands.
