Sec 3 Higher Chinese Tuition

O-Level / SEC Higher Chinese (K355, formerly 1116) has three papers: writing, including email/situational writing (Paper 1); language use and reading comprehension of modern texts, including cloze, error correction, in-depth reading, and summary (Paper 2); and oral, with oral presentation and discussion (Paper 3). Higher Chinese has no listening paper. It is more demanding than Standard Chinese in passage length, vocabulary, and writing depth. Our Sec 3 lessons map directly to these components. Under the current JC admission framework, students who score A1-C6 in both English and Higher Chinese receive 2 bonus points deducted from the JC/MI admission aggregate (L1R5 for O-Level; L1R4 from the 2028 PSE). Sec 3 formally begins O-Level / SEC Higher Chinese (K355) preparation, focusing on in-depth comprehension, advanced writing (discursive and functional), and the oral examination, with familiarisation of exam question types; classical Chinese (文言文) is taught as language enrichment. Absolutely — our Woodlands centre at Vista Point is well-connected by the Thomson-East Coast Line (Woodlands South MRT, 5-minute walk). Sec 3 Chinese students from Marsiling Secondary, Woodlands Ring Secondary, Woodgrove Secondary and estates across Woodlands, Admiralty, Marsiling, and Sembawang attend our classes to develop reading comprehension, essay writing (作文), and oral communication skills.
