PSLE Score Calculator (AL)

Enter your four PSLE subject marks below to get each subject's Achievement Level (AL1–AL8) and your total PSLE Score — from 4 (best) to 32. This free calculator from Ancourage Academy uses the official MOE AL bands and supports Foundation subjects.

Your PSLE Score is the sum of your four subject Achievement Levels, from 4 (best) to 32. Each subject’s AL comes from its raw mark — 90 and above is AL1, down to below 20 for AL8. Enter four marks below to get the total.

Enter all four marks to see the total PSLE Score (4–32).

Bands per the MOE PSLE Scoring System. Foundation subjects (graded A/B/C) map to AL6/7/8 for posting.

PSLE Achievement Level bands

Each subject mark converts to a fixed Achievement Level. The bands are criterion-referenced — they do not change with how other students perform.

How the PSLE Score is calculated

Your PSLE Score is simply the sum of your four subject Achievement Levels. Each subject is worth its AL number, so a lower total is better. For example:

Common questions

How do I use this PSLE score calculator?
Enter your raw mark (0–100) for each of the four PSLE subjects — English, Mathematics, Science and Mother Tongue. The calculator instantly converts each mark to its Achievement Level (AL1 to AL8) and adds them into your total PSLE Score, which ranges from 4 (best) to 32. For a Foundation-level subject, switch its toggle to Foundation and the calculator maps the grade (A/B/C) to its posting equivalent.
Does the calculator support Foundation subjects?
Yes. Toggle any subject to Foundation and enter its mark. Foundation grades map to a Standard-level equivalent for Secondary 1 posting: AL A (75–100) maps to AL6, AL B (30–74) to AL7, and AL C (below 30) to AL8. The total PSLE Score then uses those equivalents.
What is a good PSLE score?
A lower total is better: 4 is the best possible (AL1 in all four subjects) and 32 is the lowest. As a rough guide, the most competitive schools have cut-off points around a PSLE Score of 6–8, while many schools have places at a PSLE Score of 16 and above. Actual Secondary 1 cut-off points vary by school and year, so treat the calculator’s posting context as indicative, not a guarantee.
Is this the official MOE PSLE calculator?
No. This is a free tool by Ancourage Academy built on the official MOE Achievement Level bands. For the official estimator, use the MOE PSLE Score Calculator. Our calculator uses the same published AL bands so the AL for each mark is identical.
Can this calculator tell me which secondary school my child will get into?
No. It computes your total PSLE Score from your marks; it cannot predict Secondary 1 posting. Posting depends on each school’s cut-off point that year, your school choice order, citizenship, and balloting. Use the score here to shortlist schools, then check current cut-offs from MOE.
