Planning to visit Ancourage Academy? Whether you are coming for a trial class or just want to check out the centre first, this guide covers everything you need to know, from getting here to what your first session looks like.
Our Location
We are located at:
152 Bishan St.11, #01-215, 2nd Floor
Singapore 570152
The centre is on the 2nd floor of Block 152 in the HDB estate. Look for our signage at the ground floor entrance, then head up the staircase.
We are in District 20, near Junction 8 and a short walk from the MRT station.
Getting Here by MRT
The nearest station is Bishan MRT (Circle Line and North-South Line). From there:
- Exit via Exit A towards Junction 8
- Walk along Bishan Street 11 (about 10 minutes)
- Look for Block 152 on your right
- Find our signage at ground level and head upstairs
The walk is sheltered for most of the way, making it comfortable even on rainy days.
Getting Here by Bus
From the bus interchange, take any of these buses:
- Bus 54
- Bus 56
- Bus 410G
Alight at Zion Bible Presbyterian Church (Stop 53289). This is the 2nd stop from the interchange.
From the bus stop:
- Turn right and walk straight towards the traffic light
- Cross at the traffic light
- Turn left towards the clinic
- Go through the corridor on the right side of the clinic
- Look for the Ancourage Academy sign and head upstairs
Driving & Parking
If you are driving, there is HDB parking available at Block 152 and surrounding blocks. Parking is typically easy to find, especially during non-peak hours.

Our Facilities
When you arrive, you will see:
Classrooms
We have 3 air-conditioned classrooms, each designed for small-group learning. The rooms are bright, clean, and set up to minimise distractions. No cramped desks or noisy corridors.
One parent (P4 student) said it is "very clean and quiet, my son can focus better here." Another mum dropped off her nervous P6 son for his first trial — by the end, he asked when he could come back. That is what we aim for.
Waiting Area
We have a comfortable waiting area where parents can sit during lessons. Some parents prefer to wait, especially for younger children. Others use the time to grab a coffee at Junction 8 nearby.
What We Do not Have
We are a focused learning centre, not a large enrichment hub. We do not have a cafeteria, gym, or playground. What we do have is a quiet, purposeful space designed for learning.
Operating Hours
We are open 7 days a week:
- Monday to Friday: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Our extended hours accommodate different schedules: early sessions for homeschoolers, after-school slots for students, and weekend classes for those with packed weekday schedules.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
If you have booked a trial class, this is the typical flow:
Before the Session
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first visit
- Bring your child's recent test papers or homework (if available). This helps us understand where they are
- No need to bring stationery; we provide everything
The Trial Class
Trial classes cost $18 and run for the standard lesson duration:
- Kindergarten: 1 hour
- Primary: 1.5 hours
- Secondary/JC: 2 hours
During the session, our tutor will assess your child's current level through teaching interaction (not formal testing), identify specific gaps where concepts are not solid, and demonstrate our teaching style so your child can see if it works for them.
After the Session
We will share our observations with you: what we noticed, where we think we can help, and an honest assessment of whether tuition is even necessary. We do not push sign-ups. If we do not think we are the right fit, we will tell you.
If you decide to join, we offer month-to-month arrangements with no lock-in contracts, flexible scheduling that works with your availability, and you can start immediately without waiting for a new term.
