The SEC G2 English exam tests comprehension, situational writing, continuous writing, and oral communication — four distinct skills that each need targeted preparation. Our Sec 4 G2 English programme at Ancourage Academy (Bishan & Woodlands) focuses on the components where students lose the most marks: inference questions in comprehension, format accuracy in situational writing, and sustained conversation in oral. Our ESB methodology uses Ebbinghaus spaced review to reinforce comprehension techniques, Socratic questioning to develop oral fluency, and Bruner's scaffolding to progressively build essay complexity. Small groups of 3-6 ensure every student gets individual feedback on their weakest areas.

SEC G2 English uses a 1-6 grade scale (Grade 1 highest, Grade 5 pass), replacing the former N-Level examination for Normal Academic students. The examination covers reading comprehension, writing (situational and continuous), and oral communication.
While earlier preparation is ideal, targeted Sec 4 coaching is still effective. We quickly assess strengths and weaknesses, creating a personalised improvement plan focused on high-impact areas for the SEC examination.

G2 students can progress to polytechnic, ITE, or level up to G3 subjects for O-Level preparation. In this final year, focused revision maximises SEC results and post-secondary choices.
Our Sec 4 G2 English students come from schools across two catchment areas: Whitley Secondary, Guangyang Secondary, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary near our Bishan centre, and Marsiling Secondary, Woodlands Ring Secondary, Woodgrove Secondary near our Woodlands centre.
